The differences between the Miami-style Rueda de Casino and the Cuban-style Rueda de Casino are stark, and these differences can be seen throughout the performances of the 230 groups that participated in 2017. Casino Partnering A common misunderstanding about Casino (Cuban-style dance) is that it is only done as a group (i.e., Rueda de Casino). In reality, many of the calls you learn in the Rueda can be led and followed in a partner setting, and you'll find yourself partner dancing 95% of the time at places where Casino-style dance is held.

“Rueda de Casino” (Rueda) is a Cuban style of Salsa that is danced in a circle of friends where a caller calls dance pattern sequenced moves that sometimes create a rotational switch of partners around the circle, fun shared team moves that can build terrific teamwork or result in hilarious mayhem. Learn wonderful Cuban style salsa moves that can be danced solo as well as within the circle, creating community and joyful moments together. Casino danced with multiple partners in a circular fashion emerged in 1956 under the name “Rueda del Casino,” and has become a popular dance throughout the world today. Join the fun with us!

The building known as the Casino and Circulo de Artistas (Artists Society) is located on the north side of Ronda's Plaza del Socorro. This is a charming corner of the town where tourists enjoy their lunch, unaware that they are in the company of one of Andalucia's most famous historical venues.
In 1918, Blas Infante, known as the Father of Andalucia, held the first Andalusian Assembly in this buiding. The bright new regional flag was unveiled at this event as well, making it all the more significant. If you enter the patio on the ground floor (just ask the janitor) you'll see on the wall a plaque dedicated to that first, historic assembly.

Today the Casino building is used for cultural events and it also houses one of Ronda's four library collections. Regular evening Flamenco shows are also held in the patio.
